Nine times out of ten you can get away with half assing it. Normally it doesn't matter and if it does people don't care enough to follow up.
But it's that tenth time that will get you. The tenth time it matters. If it's not right that tenth time it causes problems and you lose credibility.
There is no other option than to take the time to do it right.
